Tyler Gordon is unquestionably about to become one of the most noted painters of his generation. The fifth-grade San Jose resident has a talent for the canvas like none other.
Specializing in portraiture, the young artist has already painted the likes of Kevin Durant, Jay-Z, Beyonce, the Beatles, Kevin Hart, Oprah, and many other starts, in addition to people who just want a portrait of themselves.
“His paintings are shadows and negative space,” commented his mother Nicole Kindle to The Mercury News.
As budding entrepreneur, Gordon has sold many of his paintings and continues to be bombarded with orders as he builds a solid social media following on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.
However, Gordon’s story is extremely special because it is not only his genius that comes to light but his fortitude as well. For a while, the young artist was in a wheelchair, after breaking both hips, and is almost nearly deaf.
When NBA legend Kevin Durant surprised the young artist during his appearance on the Steve Harvey show, Little Big Shots, in a video, the basketball superstar told Gordon to, “keep inspiring.” We have no doubt that he will. To follow Gordon’s journey on Instagram, click here.
