T.I. continues to dismantle barriers with his career in show business. The rapper and his son, Domani Harris, were nominated for a Tony Award this past weekend for Best Score for their hard work on Spongebob Squarepants: The Musical.
T.I. was the epitome of proud as he sat in the audience with his 17-year-old son. “Message to my 17 yr old self,” Tip began his note online. “‘Yoooo Tip !!! Will you Just cool out, control your anger/emotions, and manage your impulses???… You will accomplish great things in your life of true meaning that will give you true pleasure and peace. As true as this may be, nothing you do in life will ever bring you the satisfaction that you’ll get from witnessing your children do it sooner than you did.’ Congratulations son.” T.I. also shared a picture of Domani posing on the red carpet at the 2018 Tony Awards. So sweet!
It was just a few years back that Domani Harris got his start in the music industry. Some doubted the then-tween’s ability and counted him as another youngster trying to follow after his father out of convenience. Domani, however, continues to show everyone that he takes his career as a recording artist seriously.
“I just want to see myself evolve into the best person that I can be,” Domani said during an interview with RESPECT last year. “I will just continue putting my all in all of my music and using my voice to uplift, inspire, and entertain, and we’ll see where that takes me,” he shared. “It’s all about me being able to express my creativity. As long as I can do that, then I’m open to anything.” Who else is eager to see the evolution of Domani Harris?
T.I. and his son were nominated for Best Original Score Written for the Theatre.
