STEM has opened the imagination of many girls throughout the world. For one, 17-year-old, Zandra Cunningham, has managed to take Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, and make it into something truly sensational!
Cunningham has created Zandra Beauty, a company that offers teens a natural alternative to commercial beauty products. “At age nine, I began my passion for making my own skincare product as a result of my dad’s refusal to buy my beloved lip balm!” Cunningham said in a recent interview with blacknews.com.
With an offering of 40 nutrient-rich natural skin care products, this amazingly talented teen is providing patrons with a skincare line that offers sensitive-skin formulas. Cunningham’s products are so popular, she has begun to distribute Zandra Beauty in various retail stores world-wide, including partnerships with Walmart and Paper Mart.
Cunningham has not just created products, she has created a movement. With #MoreThanSoapandLotion, the teen will soon open a live Beauty Bar in order to feature DIY STEM sessions for visitors who want to learn how to create their own skin care products.
“DIY STEM education sessions create exciting educational opportunities for aspiring CEOs through hands-on experience and support our global initiative to help girls and women across the globe to use STEM and entrepreneurship skills to develop their own business innovations,” stated Cunningham.
