Marley Dias, the 13-year-old activist behind the #1000BlackGirlBooks campaign, was honored at the 2018 Bounce Trumpet Awards for her efforts to diversify libraries across America. Marley decided to do something about the lack of variety in her school’s curriculum at the age of ten. Now, her work is an international movement.
