5. You can use this holiday to appreciate art
Objects are a large part of what makes Kwanzaa so great. Take these seven days to explore the beauty that is art.
6. Kwanzaa encourages individuality
Kwanzaa is not to be intermingled with other cultures and holidays because of the need to promote self-determination and individuality. This is a great time to teach the kids about confidence and the importance of making plans for their destiny.

7. This is a time for meditation and reflection
The Christmas season has become riddled with chaos. You are often too busy finding the perfect gift for that special someone to really focus on the purpose of the season, which is the notion of peace on Earth. Kwanzaa begins the day after Christmas and can be a time of mental detox. Sit back, reflect, and meditate on the positive things in life during this time.
Heri za Kwanzaa!
