Sad news. Rod “Shooter” Gates of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta has lost his eldest son to a tragic car accident. The reality star took to Instagram earlier this week to express heartbreak over his child’s untimely death.
“So lost for words,” Rod told his Instagram fans. “The only thing that’s keeping me sane is I know the good Lord don’t make no mistakes.”
Gates told fans, “My son called me yesterday and said ‘A dad I seen you and my brothers at main event.’ I said, ‘Yea, come on out here with us.’ He said, ‘No[t] today, dad. We having a party at my spot.’ I said, ‘OK, son. Be safe. Hit me later.’ He said, ‘OK.’ I never got the chance to say, ‘I love you’ again.”

Rod went on to tell fans to express their love for family and friends every time they have the chance to do so. “I been through a lot in my life, but I think this is the hardest sh*t ever,” he shared. “A parent is never supposed to bury his child.”
