With thousands of followers across Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube, #teamtillman is celebrating the extraordinary voice of an angel-11-year-old Drew Olivia Tillman. Wowing fans across the nation, the tiny songstress went viral two-years-ago when her father uploaded the preteen’s rendition of Adele’s hit song, “Hello”.

The video garnered an overwhelming 5.5 million views, thrusting this 4th grade honor student into the Washington D.C. limelight with requests to sing in front of thousands for everything from sporting events to sold out concerts. And when it comes to nerves, this tiny rising star always seems to remain cool as a cucumber. “It’s a rush of excitement that comes through my body [before I perform for that many people] and then I’m ready. I love seeing all those people there to support me, and if I get nervous or forget my words, I feel like everyone will understand because I’m only 10-I’m no Whitney Houston,” Tillman said in an interview with 1st Amendment Media prior to her recent 11th birthday.
Tillman started singing when she was just 2-years-old. At the age of six, her mother encouraged her to start taking piano lessons where intonation and melody came easily. Tillman has never had a voice lesson and of course, one of her favorite pastimes is playing the piano and singing simultaneously.
Among her favorites, the young rising star lists entertainers such as Michael Jackson, Meghan Trainor, and Taylor Swift. “I especially admire Whitney Houston and Adele because they both have great voice control and stage presence. When they sing, they can still act it out and make the audience feel the same way that they’re feeling when they sing.”
So what does Tillman want to do with her rising popularity? “I want to encourage all the little girls that they can do whatever they want and be whoever they want to be.” With that altruistic nature, it is no doubt that this young lady will go far.
