Lamar Odom is on well on his way to recovery as several media sources report the former NBA star’s proactive efforts to stay clean. According to TMZ, Odom checked himself into rehab in hopes of preventing a relapse this holiday season.
The media source reports,
“Lamar’s son, Jayden, was born Dec 15, 2005, but died the following June from SIDS. We’re told his son’s death was the primary reason he started doing hardcore drugs … and he was keenly aware the birthday might push him over the edge again.”
Odom is allegedly receiving treatment at a rehabilitation facility in San Diego. “He went to continue making sure he stays sober and on the right path,” a family friend tells media. “It was something he chose to do. He did not relapse, but felt like he wanted to get away and start fresh for the New Year.”
Lamar is rumored to be in the process of filming a reality series that trails his pilgrimage from overdose to wellness. The star athlete nearly died after a drug overdose last year. Although Odom’s recovery has been an uphill battle, his ex-wives, Khloe Kardashian and Liza Morales, and kids have been by his side.
Lamar Odom is the proud father of three kids. Jayden was his youngest son with Liza Morales who passed away in 2005.
