“Lord knows I love this little boy!” Crystal Smith is breathing easier now that her son, Shaffer Chimre Jr., is back home. The little one spent time in Santa Monica hospital’s emergency room a few days ago for unknown reasons.
“You are so strong and such a fighter,” Crystal said of her son Instagram last Thursday. “Nothing is going to slow you down,” she exclaimed. “Mommy and daddy are right here baby! We aren’t going to let anything happen to you!!! In this moment my son has proven to be stronger than me already. We love you so much Pooda! We Can’t wait to take you home finally.”

Shaffer’s hospital scare comes months after Crystal and Ne-Yo welcomed their son. The youngster was born a healthy 6lbs, 8oz on March 15, 2016, and Crystal could not contain her excitement. “Prince Shaffer Chimere Smith Jr has arrived,” the celebrity mom exclaimed.
“It was the scariest delivery ever,” Mrs. Smith added. “I ended up getting a[n] emergency c-section cause of complications but with the help of my amazing doctor Sheryl Ross and my super calming husband NE-YO I was able to get through it all and come out with [the] best reward in the world… SJ!!!!! #BestDayOfMyLife.”
Little Shaffer makes Ne-Yo a dad for the third time. The music producer also has a son named Mason and daughter named Madilyn from a previous relationship. “I haven’t slept in about 14 days,” Ne-Yo said weeks after his youngest son’s birth. “I’m loving every minute of it,” he added.
It appears that Shaffer is already taking after dad in terms of music appreciation. Ne-Yo told press earlier this year that his son “responds to the more up-tempo stuff.”
