It’s all about celebrating freedom in American Eagle’s latest campaign. The apparel company named its latest efforts #WeAllCan and partnered with some of the hottest names in Hollywood to promote the message of liberality.
Yara Shahidi of the hit series Black-ish joined Hailee Steinfeld in declaring life’s limitless possibilities. “I can be a superhero. I can rock a pineapple bun. I can be as angst-y as I want to be. I can be as loving as I want to be. I can do what I want to do. I can dance off-beat,” Shahidi shares in a campaign video.
Chad Kessler, global brand president of American Eagle, further explains the motivation behind the new line. “#WeAllCan is a new brand platform that celebrates Young America’s unique voice and individuality,” he shares. “#WeAllCan is an invitation for Young America to follow their passions and share what they can do, be, and create. We have hand-picked unique talent for the fall campaign who share this vision and celebrate freedom of expression.”
Yara is definitely a good pick for spreading the message of freedom. It was just a few months ago that the young star discussed the benefits of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) with the Los Angeles Times. “What’s so amazing is seeing young girls empowered in STEM fields because there is an overwhelming lack of a female presence,” she shared. “I feel like it’s so important that somebody’s love or interest in STEM isn’t squashed by this idea that ‘Well, I’m not a man, this is not appropriate for a woman.'”
