Gabby Douglas is on her way to accomplishing greater things. The 20-year-old took home gold at the American Cup this past weekend, and is planning to be an all-around champion at the upcoming Olympic Games.
“From the bottom of my heart, I really believe that I can achieve more,” says Gabby. “And it’s just not for the wrong intentions. I’m like, ‘Guys, I’m back. I’m serious.’ I feel like gradually and the more and more I keep proving that, I really hope that people believe it.”
Douglas won the respect of the crowd, and judges, at the American Cup with her ‘Flying Squirrel’ move that took the competition to another level. “I’ve never seen something like that in my life,” former national team coordinator Bela Karolyi says. “If somebody in my life has a chance to repeat, she’s the one.”
While preparing for a great showing at the upcoming Olympic Games, Gabby has made time to film her and the family’s reality series. Douglas Family Gold trails the young star as she trains for gold in Ohio. Gabby’s family gives her loads of support from California as they juggle the affairs of the Olympic medalist with their own obligations.
Douglas Family Gold premieres on Oxygen on May 25, 2016 at 10 p.m. (ET). The Olympic Games come to Tokyo in 2020.
