Shelden Williams and wife Candace Parker hit the red carpet with their daughter, Lailaa, at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Sports Awards on Thursday. The ceremony was held at UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion in Westwood, California, and showcased a fearless Lailaa who smiled for photographers.
The youngster is getting used to being in the spotlight now that she has made a television appearance on Nickelodein’s Ricky, Ricky, Dicky and Dawn with her mom. “She watches Nickelodeon all the time,” says Candace of her and Lailaa’s appearance on the show. “She’s transitioning into the older kid shows now, so it’s fun. We saw a commercial for the show I’m appearing on and it’s fun to see her recognize that.”
In transitioning into the “older kid,” Lailaa was able to help mom better prepare for her television role. “She was kind of helping me with my lines today and it’s amazing how much she knows, like how much she remembered. She knew my lines better than I did,” exclaims Candace.
Laila is Candace and Shelden’s only child. She celebrated her sixth birthday in May.
