Jaden Smith surprised the public two-fold this week; he released a 3-song album on Kendall Jenner’s birthday and proved his rap-skills are no joke.
On Twitter, Jaden posted to BFF Kendall, “Haha @KendallJenner Me And Teo Released An Album On Your Birthday Cause Were In Love With You.”
The songs, “Preach”, “ER the Faculty”, and “Pleiaidian Medicine” were produced by frequent callaborator Téo and all point to a serious rap career. Jaden has certainly been accused of piggy-backing on his father’s career, but the flows and rhymes on these new tracks sound like a young man coming into someone entirely his own.
Jaden is definitely turning heads, with his new music even being likened to the proficiency of rap superstar Drake. Eccentricities aside, Refinery 29 is proud to announce the prediction that the Smith kids are the future of music, both having all but left the big screen behind.
That being said, rumours abound that Jaden may soon take TV’s DC Universe by storm with the upcoming live-action adaptation of teenage comic book hero Static Shock. So it seems the Smiths will continue to increasingly dominate pop culture.
