The date is drawing near for Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union to become one in marriage, and the couple is beginning to share precious moments that led up to their happy engagement with fans. The Miami ‘Heat’ star and actress recently released a ‘Save the Date’ video that bore footage of the moment when Dwyane asked Gabrielle to be his wife with the help of his sons.
The video begins by introducing Dwyane and Gabrielle. “The is Dwyane” reads the screen as an image of a bobble-head version of Wade pops up. The footage goes on to explain how the star athlete proposed and shows the kids holding up signs that read, “Nickie Will You Marry Us?” Gabrielle can later be seen giving Zion and Zaire high-fives after agreeing to marry Wade.
Union discussed her life as a step mom shortly after becoming engaged a few months back. “It’s been a journey to boogers and flashcards and first heartbreaks and school dances,” said the actress. “[Dwyane and I] got this amazing gift at a second chance. He just asked me to commit to trying…and the trying led to doing the work. [It] led to us thriving because of the work, which led to this amazing proposal where my family asked me to marry them.”
