Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz gave birth to a baby boy just over a year ago, and the couple is already planning his future. Although not expecting another baby, as some have speculated, Alicia and Swizz are preparing to raise their first child to have a deep sense of community.
While the couple plans to implement the importance of education and hard work in their parent scheme, they want baby Egypt to develop into an adult who changes the world. As Keys explains, “for him to be able to see what happens in the world and be able to see different cultures and people and happenings-I think it opens up your mind wide up.” As parents who lead by example, Alicia and Swizz have participated in several charity efforts, including the recent benefit for children with AIDS.
The couple hopes to execute their charitable-child ambitions by giving Egypt the necessities, and allowing him to become involved with volunteerism in the near future. Surprisingly enough, Keys is already devising a scheme that restricts Egypt’s Christmas gift intake to a few presents.
