Nikki Mudarris is opening up about how she and her ex, LiAngelo Ball, are raising their two young children following their split.
During a recent appearance on TMZ’s TMD Podcast, the former Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood star discussed her relationship with Ball, with whom she shares a three-year-old son and a one-year-old child.
Although their relationship didn’t work out, Mudarris said they continue to co-parent well and celebrate their children’s birthdays together.
“I’m not going to ever take that away from my kids regardless how I feel about the situation. My kids don’t deserve to not have their dad present,” she said.
She added, “So, I’ve learned to put my feelings to the side for them.”
Holidays, however, are a different story. When asked whether their families celebrate together, Mudarris explained, “he has his days and I have my days, you know.”
The mother of two also shared how she and Ball approach discipline. While Ball tends to be the fun parent, Mudarris considers herself the stricter one.
“I think I’m more of the stricter one,” she said. “He plays with them. He’s like the fun one.”
Mudarris admitted that her children are “spoiled to death,” but she wants to make sure they understand the importance of structure and hard work.
“I’m going to make sure that they work for what they want too.”
For now, Mudarris has put dating on hold so she can focus on herself and her children.
“So it’s really hard to pour my energy into someone else when I have to give it to my kids,” she explained.
As for whether she would ever consider getting back together with Ball, Mudarris made it clear that reconciliation isn’t something she can envision after his alleged infidelity.
“I just can’t. You know, a lot happened at a very vulnerable hard time in my life and I just can’t let it go,” she said.
Mudarris recalled the emotional toll of their separation, especially as she dealt with postpartum depression and cared for their young children.
“You go from being in a house together, raising them to separated and having postpartum depression, like losing yourself in the process. And then he went and, you know, did that to me.”
