Sydel Curry-Lee, former volleyball star and sister to Golden State Warriors icon Steph Curry, has revealed some exciting news—she and her husband, NBA player Damion Lee, are expecting their third child!
Sydel, 29, took to Instagram to share the surprise announcement with her followers, writing:
“Thankful to say the least! We are so excited to announce our newest little miracle that we never could have imagined. After experiencing the miracle of IVF we are now living in the miracle of natural conception due May 2025. Thank you Lord! #LeeForThree #babynumber3.”
This announcement comes as a shock to the couple, who previously relied on fertility treatments to conceive their two children.
In her Instagram story, Sydel opened up about the unexpected pregnancy and how she and Damion were initially unprepared for the idea of expanding their family.
“I’m very excited that I’m actually finally able to talk about it. There’s a lot to catch you guys up on because it’s been about three months of getting used to the idea. Um, it took me a while to get used to the idea. I don’t know if I actually said it on here but we were very much done having kids and so yeah it was a journey to getting used to the idea of getting outnumbered and having three,” she said.
“It just makes it feel real when you announce it to the world, But yeah it’s a freaking crazy. When you go from being told like yeah you can’t have kids naturally, you have two kids already through fertility help and then you’re here,” Sydel added.
Sydel and Damion, who tied the knot in 2018, have been open about their road to parenthood. The couple’s fertility journey began three months after their wedding, but it was met with heartbreak. Sydel experienced a miscarriage after eight months of trying naturally, which led them to pursue IVF treatments in November 2020.
Their perseverance paid off. After two rounds of IVF, they welcomed their first child, Daxon Wardell-Xavier Lee, in 2021. Their second child, Daryn Alicia Lee, followed on August 8, 2023.
