Zahara Jolie-Pitt, the daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, has officially become a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. at Spelman College.
Essence shared the exciting news, saying, “Congratulations to Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt, daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, who just joined Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. at Spelman College!”
Zahara first enrolled at Spelman in the Fall 2022 school year, with Jolie excitedly revealing her daughter’s academic destination in the summer of the same year. The proud mom shared an image on Instagram of her daughter surrounded by fellow Spelman classmates.
She captioned, “Zahara with her Spelman sisters! Congratulations to all new students starting this year. A very special place and an honor to have a family member as a new Spelman girl.”
Currently navigating her sophomore year, Zahara has chosen to pursue a path in sociology and anthropology at the historic HBCU. Her enrollment in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, adds another layer to her enriching college experience. Founded in 1908 at Howard University, AKA stands as the oldest Greek-letter organization established by African American college-educated women, boasting a rich legacy with over 355,000 initiated members across 12 countries.
Despite being part of one of Hollywood’s most prominent families, Zahara has, for the most part, maintained a low profile since her adoption in 2005. Born in Awasa, Ethiopia, she became the first adopted daughter of Angelina Jolie’s multicultural family at just six months old. In 2006, she was co-adopted by Jolie’s then-husband, Oscar winner Brad Pitt. Zahara is one of six children that Angelina Jolie parents.
