Garcelle Beauvais is the newest cast member on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (RHOBH). The celebrity mom tells the press that she had a conversation with her kids and ex before joining the show.
“First of all, I’ve been a fan of the show,” Garcelle shares. “I’ve obviously been friends with Denise [Richards] for over 20 years, friends with [Lisa] Rinna a very long time as well. So being a fan, and then when it came up, I thought immediately.”
Beauvais’ team did not think the idea was so grand. “My team was like, ‘Oh, we’re gonna pass.’ And I said, ‘Wait a minute, wait a minute! Let me sit on this for a minute.’ And I thought, ‘You know what, why not do something outside of the box?'”
Doing “something outside of the box” was not the final decision. Garcelle still needed to discuss the notion of Reality TV with her sons, Jaid and Jax, and ex-husband, Mike Nilon. Everyone involved ultimately gave Beauvais the green light, and now fans will get to see the funniest parts of the veteran actress’ life at home.
“I think some of it will be fun to watch because I sort of forgot everything we shot and I don’t know what they’re using and what they’re not using,” Garcelle shares. “But some of it will be hard because, you know, I had to sort of relive my divorce and that was a really hard place for me to go [through],” the actress admitted.
“I had to have a conversation with my kids because they were so little when we got divorced to give them a heads-up,” the celebrity mom adds. “And also, I had to bring up the whole ‘Mommy was on Playboy. Do you know what Playboy is, have you ever Googled it?'”
