Amerie and her husband, Lenny Nicholson, celebrated their son River Nicholson’s first birthday last month. The celebrity mom shared pictures from River’s birthday party earlier this week.
“Still looking back at the family fun we had for @River_Rowe’s ‘Wild One’ First Birthday party,” Amerie shared along with photos from the bash. “Auntie @angelamr80 came through w/the creative direction, and we all spent the morning blowing up balloons, setting up stuffed animals, etc.,” the celebrity mom further explained.
“[The preparations and party] gave me super nostalgia of the at-home bday parties my parents threw for us (when Mommy would bake the cake).”
Amerie became a mom last Spring. River Nicholson was born on May 15, 2018, which was nearly seven years after Amerie and Lenny tied the marital knot in Anguilla.
“This has been such a blessed journey,” Amerie wrote of her life as a mom in one of her recent blog posts. “There have been plenty of sleepless nights and instances of fear (because kids don’t come with instructions), but the joy I get simply from a smile from him, or a hug or a kiss-bō-bō (bō-bō is ‘kiss’ in Korean) is priceless,” the celebrity mom added. “I thank God every day that I have the honor of being River’s mommy.”
