Chris Tucker and his son, Destin Christopher Tucker, were two of many stars to attend the screening of Once Upon A Time In Hollywood at the 72nd Cannes Film Festival in Cannes, France, this past Tuesday (May 21). The father and son amazed photographers with how much they favored one another in physical appearance.
Looking at Destin was like seeing a younger version of Chris Tucker. The young adult had everything from his father’s smile to Chris Tucker’s poses on the red carpet down pat.
Destin certainly appears to follow in his father’s footsteps. The young adult moved to Atlanta to study film at Morehouse College in 2017. Chris was quite excited about Destin’s school choice. “I think it was a great decision; it was like Morehouse chose us,” the celebrity father said during a recent interview. “I’m from Atlanta, and it’s just great for [Destin] to be down here and I’m here. It all just came together,” Tucker added.
Destin may have taken a lot of valuable information away from the Once Upon A Time In Hollywood screening. The film received a six-minute standing ovation at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. That amount of praise is one of the longest that a film has received at Cannes in a while.
Quentin Tarantino delved into his vision for Once Upon A Time In Hollywood during a recent interview. “This film is the closest thing I’ve done to Pulp Fiction,” the director shared. “Alfonso [Cuarón] had Roma and Mexico City, 1970. I had L. A. and 1969. This is me. This is the year that formed me. I was six years old then. This is my world. And this is my love letter to L.A.”
Fans of Quentin Tarantino can experience his love letter to Los Angeles when Once Upon A Time In Hollywood comes to theaters on July 26, 2019.
