Kenya Moore is officially a first-time mom, and we’re loving all of the vibes she’s bringing to her Instagram account. The celebrity mom shared a sneak peek of her and husband Marc Daly’s daughter, Brooklyn, all while revealing to her fans that it will be weeks before she can walk without pain following her emergency Cesarean section.
“#brooklyndaly came early and the reality is it will take weeks for me to be able to walk without the excruciating pain of a C-section and to heal from the multiple cuts to my uterus,” Kenya shared with her social media followers. However, “[I] needed to get her some preemie items so of course, off to @target we went. My aunt Lisa is so afraid! I’m supposed to be in bed.”
Kenya Moore welcomed her daughter several weeks early after learning that she had developed preeclampsia during her pregnancy.
For those who do not know, preeclampsia is a medical condition that leads to high blood pressure, swelling of the hands and feet, and protein in the urine during expectancy. The condition can be life-threatening, which is why some physicians closely monitor the situation and call for an emergency C-section when the situation continues to progress.
Kenya Moore was certainly planning to carry her and Marc Daly’s daughter to full term. She and he, however, were nothing short of thrilled to welcome Brooklyn on Sunday, November 4, 2018.
“[We named her] Brooklyn because that’s where we met and fell in love,” Kenya told PEOPLE of her daughter’s name. “[We also named her] Doris after my grandmother who passed away last year and who raised me.”
We cannot wait to see how Kenya continues to handle her role as a mom. She’s already showing signs of being a supermom. Stay tuned for more celebrity mom news!
