Russell Wilson has concluded training with the New York Yankees. The experience was nothing short of memorable for the NFL player and his family.
Russell made sure that his stepson, Future Zahir, spent time with a few legends from the Yankees team. One video clip even showed the youngster hanging out with Reggie Jackson from the sidelines. “Yankee Legend fist bumpin’ with a future Yankee Legend,” Russell captioned underneath footage of little Future hobnobbing with Reggie.
Wilson made quite the impact during his Spring training with the Yankees. The Seattle Seahawks player definitely put fire behind the notion of having a two-sport career.
“I always say, ‘Nothing is impossible.’ I’ll never say never,” Russell said in response to media pushing the idea of him being both a football and baseball player. “My focus is on football and winning championships right now,” Russell reiterated.
The desire to play for the Yankees runs deep for Russell Wilson. “[Me and my dad] used to watch the Yankees when I was growing up, and we always used to talk about that — what a dream it would be,” he revealed. “Also, my great uncle is from New York City, and he wears a Yankees hat every day. I’ve always been a Yankees fan since I was little.”
