Nicki Minaj is getting ready for the premiere of her new show. The rapper shared a few cadids of herself onset with her young cast members earlier this week.
“Can’t wait to introduce u to my little babies,” she captioned underneath one photo. “Had so much fun with them today on set.” Nicki shared another picture of the show’s star, Ariana Neal, sticking out her tongue and wrote, “Ariana what u doin?”
Miss Neal will portray a young Nicki Minaj in the upcoming series that trails the rapper’s path to fame from Trinidad to New York. The show, named after Minaj, is meant to be a comedy but will feature the various challenges that the artist faced while en route to stardom.
Nicki took one look at Ariana’s audition tape and knew that she was the right person to take the lead. “I literally cried watching her taped audition,” Minaj told social media fans a few months back. “I demanded to meet her! Sat in a room with her teaching her how to rap by doing a beat on the table and forcing her to stay on beat! Lol. Then pulled out all the attitude she had in her lil body. Haha! She’s tough! And so sweet and cute.”
The series Nicki is slated to premiere on ABC Family, a.k.a. Freeform, in coming months.
