Loretta Devine is never too busy to promote education. The actress stopped by Disney’s D23 Expo at the Anaheim Convention Center on Monday, and brought Doc McStuffins to life with her storybook reading.
Children gathered around with excitement as Loretta read a tale from the award-winning series. The actress’ granddaughter was one of the exuberant youngsters as she accompanied Loretta to the event and had the pleasure of hearing her grandmother relate the story to the kids.
Devine has been quite busy in Hollywood working on the set of NBC’s The Carmichael Show. She portrays the central character’s mother in the series alongside David Alan Grier, who is the father. The Carmichael Show loosely depicts Jerrod Carmichael’s real-life experience when meeting his girlfriend’s parents for the first time. In the series, Jerrod is afraid to inform his parents of his decision to move in with his partner for fear of their judgmental responses. The character is also a bit nervous about the idea of co-habitation.
The Carmichael Show premieres on Wednesday, August 26, 2015, at 9/8c on NBC.
