Nelly has got bullying on his mind. The rapper tells Huff Post Live that he is doing everything within his power to ensure that his kids are not the victims of cyber bullying.
“I think parenting these days is definitely different from when a lot of people grew up,” says the star. “Bullying was one on one and face to face. Now it’s all over the Internet. You think you had it bad when somebody put out a rumor on you in the school, think about somebody putting a rumor out about you on the Internet.”
Nelly further discusses his children, and how their status as celebrity kids gives them the ability to positively impact their community. “It could [be] something as small as just them voicing their opinion,” shares the artist. “Everybody voices their opinion and then when it stops at them, all of a sudden their opinion is coming because of who their father is. But I tell them that all the time, too. You can’t just be Nelly when it works for you.”
You can catch Nelly and his kids on television when the rapper’s reality series, ‘Nellyville,’ premieres in coming weeks.
