ANTHONY EDWARDS FEARS ALEXANDRIA DESROCHES WILL GAMBLE AWAY $14K MONTHLY CHILD SUPPORT

Anthony Edwards wants a portion of his child support payments to Alexandria Desroches placed in a trust because he fears she could spend the money on online sports betting.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the Minnesota Timberwolves star has asked for a trustee to manage distributions of some of the $14,000 he pays each month for their son, Amir.

In his filing, Edwards alleges that Desroches testified to using DraftKings dozens of times per month in 2025 while arguing that his support payments were insufficient. He also claims she overstated expenses for their child and failed to disclose income from a second job, including cash tips.

Desroches acknowledged using the betting platform but disputed his characterization of her gambling. She said her wagers were about $10 and were “placed out of boredom.” According to her response, she has since stopped using the account, and her records show a net figure of $998.20 in DraftKings activity for 2025.

She also challenged Edwards’ request for oversight of the money given his absence from their son’s life. Desroches said he has never met Amir in person or sought parenting time.

The filing comes after an August order that set Edwards’ monthly child support obligation at $14,000. Desroches had requested an increase from a baseline amount of roughly $3,200.

Court records at the time listed the NBA player’s monthly income at nearly $4.8 million, compared with just over $1,000 for Desroches. She told the court she hoped to finish college and improve her ability to financially support their son.

Edwards was also ordered to contribute more than $21,000 toward her legal fees and obtain a life insurance policy worth approximately $2.6 million. Desroches was to be named the policy’s primary beneficiary.

Amir was born in October 2023 and is Edwards’ only son. He also shares daughters Aris with Daja Carlyle, Aislynn with Shannon Jackson, and Aubri’ with Ayesha Howard.

No ruling on the proposed trust has been reported.
