Shanina Shaik is pregnant!
The 35-year-old model announced last week that she and music executive Ryan Press are expecting their first child together.
Shaik revealed the news on Instagram alongside a series of maternity photos showing off her growing baby bump. In several of the images, Press poses beside her with his hand resting on her stomach.
“Ryan and I are so excited to welcome a little one into our world. It’s been so special holding onto this just between us for a little while, watching it become more real every day,” she wrote.
Shaik, who is already mom to 3-year-old son Zai, also shared her excitement about making him a big brother.
“And for my Zai, watching him become a big brother is a whole new kind of magic… I already know he’s going to be the best big brother!” she continued.
She ended the announcement by writing, “A new little life, a new chapter, and so much love ahead. Our hearts are full, and we can’t wait to meet you.”
Shaik shares Zai, whom she welcomed in September 2022, with her former partner, music executive Matthew Adesuyan.
Shortly after becoming a mother, the Australian model opened up about how parenthood had changed her priorities and made her more protective.
“As a mom I’d say you become much more protective and you just think and worry all the time about someone else’s well being so it’s not about me anymore,” she told E! News. “Everything I do is about him.”
Those priorities have continued to shape the way she approaches her career.
Last month, after nearly two decades in the modeling industry, she turned down a professional opportunity because spending time at home with Zai mattered more.
“There was a moment I turned something down that I knew most people wouldn’t in my position…but being home to raise my son and spend time with him matters more than any campaign ever could,” she wrote. “I don’t regret it. If anything, it’s the choice I’m proudest of.”
Shaik made it clear that becoming a mother hasn’t meant stepping away from the career she has spent years building. Instead, she has had to figure out how the two can coexist.
“19 years in, and I’m still working, still building…but being his mum comes first,” she wrote. “This industry doesn’t always leave room for that kind of choice. So I’m learning to make my own room, in my own time.”
