Cardi B may be one of the biggest names in music, but like many working moms, she sometimes has to miss time with her children because of her career.

“I try my best to have my kids around me as much as possible, but sometimes I can’t be with them. Mothers have to make sacrifices,” Cardi said in a new cover interview with Vogue Arabia.
Cardi says her children understand that her career as an international recording artist sometimes takes her away from them, just as other professions can require parents to spend time away from their families.
“Lawyers also have to go out of state for some cases and that might take three weeks or a month. And they don’t make excuses,” she explained. “It’s sad, but we need to look at the bigger picture.”

Ultimately, Cardi hopes her children will recognize that the time she spent away was for work and not because she chose other things over them.
“I hope that my kids look at what I do and understand, ‘Mom was working her a** off.’ She wasn’t clubbing, she wasn’t dating, she wasn’t partying… Instead, she was making sacrifices for a better living, you know what I’m saying?”
As a mom, the music mogul describes herself as generally chil.

However, when it comes to her children’s education, the 33-year-old is extremely strict, in part because she dropped out of college when she was younger.
“I don’t want my kids to grow up and be like, ‘Damn, I’m not good at this, my mom should have made me do it,’” she said.
“When you are younger, you don’t want to do things, and then when you’re older, you appreciate that you did them.”
Cardi is mom to daughters Kulture, 8, and Blossom, 1, and son Wave, 4, whom she shares with estranged husband Offset. She also welcomed a son with NFL star Stefon Diggs in November 2025.
