LIL BABY AND HIS OLDER SON GIVE BACK AT ANNUAL ATLANTA BACK-TO-SCHOOL EVENT

Lil Baby hosted the sixth annual Back to School Fest over the weekend through his nonprofit, The Jones Project, at West End Production Park in Atlanta’s West End neighborhood.

About 4,000 students turned out for free school supplies, clothing, uniforms, haircuts, food, games, and other giveaways ahead of the new school year. The event also drew several Atlanta officials, including Commissioner Khadijah Abdur-Rahman, City Council representative Michael Bond and Judge Penny Brown Reynolds.

The rapper later shared photos from the event on Instagram, including several with his older son.

Giving back has long been a priority for Lil Baby. In 2020, he donated proceeds from his single “The Bigger Picture” to several charitable organizations, and he has continued expanding those efforts ever since. Along the way, he’s hosted holiday toy giveaways and, earlier this year, organized a Mrs. Trendsetter Mother’s Day Flowers Pop-Up where children created custom bouquets and handwritten cards for their mothers.

His community work has also included partnering with Foot Locker to renovate the basketball courts at Oakland City Park, providing local students with new sneakers, donating 200 bicycles, distributing 2,000 winter coats to families in need, establishing a $150,000 scholarship fund at his former high school and quietly paying college tuition for several students.

“Giving back to my city is everything,” he said. “You need the right tools to build your future. We’re keeping the next generation fresh, locked in, and motivated to learn.”

The community event comes as Lil Baby continues to see success on the music charts. His new single, “Dead Fresh,” recently reached No. 1 on Apple Music and remains the platform’s top hip-hop track. Produced by Pharrell Williams, the song has generated more than 400 million TikTok views across over 130,000 videos, climbed to No. 11 on TikTok’s Top 50 chart, and currently sits at No. 1 on Shazam’s U.S. Viral chart and No. 3 on the U.S. Top 200 chart.
