Kim Kardashian has revealed that she is “really conflicted” about her daughter North’s emerging career.
In an exclusive clip shared with People Magazine, the 44-year-old reality star discussed how she is managing North’s rising stardom while balancing her own career. Speaking with her mother, Kris Jenner, and sister, Khloe Kardashian, Kim reflected on her unexpected role as North’s “momager.”
“I thought I was busy before. North, me having to be her momager right now is crazy. It’s just, it was not on my list. It was not on my Bingo card for this year,” Kim said to her mother and sister.
“It’s a lot of work,” Kris confirms. “It’s a lot of energy.”
“And I’m not ready,” Kim responded.
Khloe adds, “You’re like, I have my own s— to manage.”
Kim concluded, “If she has a shoot, I have to be there all day, so it’s like her or me.”
In a confessional moment on The Kardashians, Kim revealed that she has struggled with prioritizing North’s career opportunities over her childhood experiences.
“I’m really conflicted on my daughter’s career, so we’re going to talk about that soon,” she shared.
“I just really want to make sure that everything’s really well balanced. All of the work experiences are balanced out with just enough fun life experiences. I just want balance.”
North’s career has been rapidly ascending. This year alone, she starred as Young Simba in a production of The Lion King, was featured on Kanye West’s song “Talking / Once Again,” and recently showcased her Japanese skills on FKA twigs’ new track, Childlike Things.”
Earlier this year, the SKIMS founder appeared on an episode of Erin and Sara Foster’s podcast, World’s First Podcast, where she opened up about taking on the “momager” role, something that she says that she was “kind of forced into.”
“You know, if North has something and I have to take off filming to do something with her, it just has to be a family decision. And really important to her.”
“There’s so much that I’ve stopped because it’s too much, and I’m really not ready to be a “momager,” and I’m kind of forced into this.”
In addition to North, Kim also shares three other children with West: sons, Saint and Psalm and another daughter, Chicago.
