Bubba Wallace and his wife Amanda are ushering in Fall as new parents. The professional NASCAR driver and his wife have welcomed their first child, Becks Hayden Wallace.
In a joint social media post, the couple shared a carousel of images of their little bundle of joy.
Wallace excitedly began his caption of the post, “Amanda and I would like to introduce you to Becks Hayden! We were blessed with his presence Sunday 9/29. 9 months of waiting on this little guy, he’s made it all worth it! So excited for this journey!”
Wallace and Carter met in high school when he was a sophomore and she, a freshman. The pair didn’t begin actually dating until after graduation. The 30-year-old professional driver joked and told People Magazine in an exclusive interview that, “she [Carter] thought I was nice, but not attractive.”
“She thought I was nice, but not attractive,” he reminisced. “I just remember seeing her and I was like, ‘Wow, she’s beautiful.”
For Carter, the feeling wasn’t mutual at all at the time. “We were in Spanish class in high school, and we sat near each other,” she recalled at the time. “I don’t remember first meeting, but he would always try to cheat. We were friends. There was three or four of us that did all of our projects together and he always would try to cheat off my exams because I was much smarter than he was!”
The pair eventually married in Charlotte, N.C. on New Year’s Eve in 2022. They rang in 2023 as husband and wife, toasting to their new beginning alongside a McDonald’s food truck, filled with chicken nuggets and french fries.
Carter told People of her and Wallace’s journey that it has been a “special one” thus far and that “We still reminisce or talk about things from the past. We just know so much about each other’s lives from so long ago.”
