Mariah Carey made a bold statement while climbing the Great Wall of China with her 13-year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan, whom she shares with ex-husband Nick Cannon.
The singer climbed the famous monument in a black dress, butterfly jewelry, oversized sunglasses, and yes, five-inch heels.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on Saturdya, Carey joked about her footwear choice, writing, “At the Great Wall of China! Someone should’ve warned me about heels ,” but admitted she probably wouldn’t have listened anyway.
While Mariah stayed true to her glamorous look, her twins kept it casual. Moroccan wore a graphic T-shirt and shorts, while Monroe sported Olivia Rodrigo tour merch. The family posed for some adorable photos, with Carey wrapping her arms around her kids, capturing sweet moments together.
Mariah Carey captioned her post with, “It really is great!,” showing her love for the trip and the time spent with her children.
The fun outing comes after a tough few weeks for the singer. In late August, Carey lost both her mother, Patricia Carey, and her sister, Alison, on the same day.

“My heart is broken that I’ve lost my mother this past weekend,” she shared in a statement to People on Aug. 26. “Sadly, in a tragic turn of events, my sister lost her life on the same day.”
The “Touch My Body” singer added, “I feel blessed that I was able to spend the last week with my mom before she passed.”
After a brief hiatus, Mariah returned to social media on September 8th with a video announcing her return to work, thanking fans for their unwavering support.
“Back at work,” she captioned. “It’s been a couple of rough weeks, but I appreciate everyone’s love and support so much and I can’t wait to see my fans in China & Brazil. Love you!”
