This past weekend, singer Monica went all out to celebrate her daughter Laiyah’s 11th birthday with a lavish skater-themed party in Atlanta.
Held on Sunday, September 1st, the celebration drew a star-studded crowd, including Bow Wow, Jermaine Dupri, and their daughters.
Upon entering the roller skating venue, guests were met by a disco wonderland, adorned with sparkling disco balls, flowers, and snapshots from a recent mother-daughter photoshoot.
Monica took to social media to share photos from the shoot and a touching message for her daughter, who will officially turn 11 on September 3rd.
In her Instagram post, she wrote, “My Life changed (for the better) the second I knew I was carrying you 💜🩷🩵 My Virgo Princess … Born Sept 3rd Yet Celebrated Daily… Know you’re enough & Gods love & covering shall forever be with you…. LET’S Skate Babygirl….”
Monica, who shares Laiyah with ex-husband Shannon Brown, also has two sons, Romelo, 16, and Rodney, 18, with ex-Rodney “Rocko” Hill. Additionally, she is a bonus mother to Hill’s son, Ramone, 28.
In a recent cover story for Hello Beautiful, Monica shared her commitment to supporting her daughter’s dreams.
“I’m not directing her or redirecting her away from what her goals and dreams are,” she said. “We’re pushing her towards it because I think she has the right support system to be a part of what she wants to be a part of. But I love the joy of having a daughter. I love the fun of us being able to talk about some of the female things.”
Last year, Monica marked Laiyah’s entry into double digits with a sweet Instagram tribute. “One never truly knows LOVE, until they’ve experienced YOU….. You’ve given me a decade of Joy, Compassion , Understanding & Love without Conditions.”
“May you always see YOU as special & deserving as I do,” she added. “HAPPY 10th BIRTHDAY LAIYAH.”
