Halle Bailey marked her first Mother’s Day in the most heartfelt way imaginable – with a touching tribute tattoo for her son, Halo.
In her Instagram stories, the Little Mermaid actress shared a glimpse of her new ink, proudly displaying her son’s name inscribed in red cursive script on the inside of her wrist. Adding an extra touch of symbolism, a delicate “halo” crowns the last letter.
Bailey, who shares five-month-old Halo with her boyfriend, rapper and YouTuber DDG, couldn’t contain her joy as she shared the meaningful gesture with her followers. “I got my first tattoo yesterday for mother’s day in honor of my baby halo.”
In addition to sharing her the image of her new tattoo, the new mother also shared a video on Instagram of various images of she and her son set to “To Our Daughter (Lullaby) by My Best Friend Jacob”.
The 24-year-old captioned her video, “My first mother’s day. the greatest love i’ve ever known.”
Bailey has been very candid and open about the ups and downs of being a new mother. Last month, the singer took to Snapchat, sharing her postpartum depression journey.
“I just wanted to speak a little bit about my postpartum journey as a new mom. I have severe, severe postpartum, and I don’t know if any new moms can relate, but it’s to the point where it’s really bad and it’s hard for me to be separated from my baby for more than 30 minutes at a time before I start to kind of freak out.”
She continued in her post giving her boyfriend credit for being an great dad to Halo and the perfect partner/support for her.
“You all know that Halo has the most amazing daddy in the world. Moo Moo is just the perfect dad to him. He loves him so much; he’s so present. And I couldn’t have asked for a better person to have a baby with because of how present he is and how much he wants to be in his life and how supportive he is of me and my ventures.”
Halo is the first child for both Bailey and DDG.
