The ongoing divorce saga between television host Jeannie Mai and rapper Jeezy has taken yet another dramatic turn, with startling revelations emerging from new court documents.
In the latest legal battle between the estranged couple, Jeezy alleges that Mai sought to pursue in-vitro fertilization (IVF) for a second child after he expressed his intention to file for divorce. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Jeezy claims that they had been trying to conceive naturally for over a year before he broke the news to Mai about his plans for divorce.
Mai then reportedly “contacted their same doctor about in-vitro fertilization (IVF),” but Jeezy (born Jay Wayne Jenkins) allegedly declined to give permission.
Jeezy’s lawyers state in the filing that Mai’s subsequent allegations of domestic abuse and child neglect were “all because the Petitioner declined to have a second baby with her, and the Petitioner decided to file this divorce action.”
The documents further reveal Jeezy’s assertion that Mai’s desire for a second child raises questions about her previous allegations of abuse and neglect.
“If [he] were so violent as the Respondent claims, why would she want to have a second child with him? If the Petitioner were so irresponsible and created such an unsafe home environment for the parties’ minor child, why would the Respondent desperately want to have a second baby with the Petitioner? The answer is because the Petitioner is not violent, and the Petitioner is not irresponsible,” the documents continue.
Jeannie and Jeezy, who are parents to 2-year-old daughter Monaco, have been embroiled in a legal battle over their prenuptial agreement and custody rights since Jeezy filed for divorce in September 2023. Jeezy is currently seeking joint physical and legal custody of Monaco.
