Storm Reid fans are rejoicing everywhere as they are about to get a new project bound for the small screen with their favorite actress. The 20-year-old talent is set to star in Teyana Taylor’s directorial debut, Get Lite, for Paramount Pictures.
The USC student excitedly shares the news on Instagram saying, “y’all i’m BEYOND excited for this. cannot wait to create magic with such incredible people who inspire me. get ready to GET LITE. BIGGEST thank you TO @paramountpics @teyanataylor @kenyabarris”

The film follows a studious New York City teenager who has his world upended when he falls for a charismatic beatmaker (played by Reid) who recruits him to join her Litefeet dance crew, forcing him to choose between a safe academic path and his rekindled love of dance.
In addition to starring in the Paramount Pictures project, the Emmy-winning actress is also on deck as a producer of the film through her production company, A Seed & Wings Productions. Kenya Barris and his Khalabo Ink Society is also producing.
Joining Barris and Reid, Bill Karesh through OFFBRND, Robyn Simpson through A Seed & Wings Productions and Anni Weisband will also serve as producers. Taylor will be credited as both director and executive producer with Coco Gilbert serving as her co-producer. The film will be written by Eric Gross.
Just like Reid, Taylor shared the exciting news about the project on her own official Instagram account in a lengthy post.

As we all know, the New York native began her career as a choreographer and dancer. She added to her resume by expanding into music, and now the multi-hyphenate entertainer is taking her turn behind the lens to tell a story that comes full-circle to where it all began for her.
