Love & Hip Hop: Miami star Shay Johnson has shared heartbreaking news with her fans on Instagram. On Monday, the reality TV personality revealed that she had experienced the loss of her unborn baby and underwent a Dilation and Curettage (D&C) surgery.
In a poignant post, she reflected on the challenging process but expressed gratitude for the support of her family and friends.
Alongside photos taken before her D&C surgery, Shay wrote, “I waited to post theses pictures. They were taken at the hospital before my #D&C #DNCsurgery. This process was hard but just know I’m in better spirits. My family and friends had my back percent! Thank you #Mommy #Daddy #Fabo #Triston #Larena and #Jullian for having my back. Stay prayed up peeps! Hopefully God will bless me with another pregnancy!! Kiss to all my supporters. Love Ya!!”
She added, “Dilation and curettage (D&C) is a procedure to remove tissue from inside the uterus. It’s also done to clear the uterine lining after a miscarriage.”
For Shay, the journey to motherhood has been filled with ups and downs, as documented on the hit reality show. Last month, she surprised fans with the news of her pregnancy, sharing a candid moment with her mother Sandra.
“I’m pregnant,” she announced to her mom.
Despite initial disbelief and concern from her mom, Shay stood firm in her decision to embrace motherhood once again. During the highly charged episode, she mentioned contemplating abortion but ultimately changed her mind.
“I don’t even know what to say. I can tell you this, you helped me make my decision because I have been thinking about an abortion,” she said at the time.
Shay is already a mom to a one-year-old daughter, Shajiyah, whom she shares with her on-and-off boyfriend, Fabian (Fabo).
