Back in October of last year, Isabella Strahan was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a malignant brain tumor. The valiant teen underwent surgery and radiation treatments, which she finished in January of this year. Now, continuing on her health journey, the 19-year-old is detailing her latest round of chemotherapy treatments.
In a recent YouTube vlog, “Vlog 8: Recovering from Chemo at Home,” the twin daughter of Good Morning America anchor, Michael Strahan, stated that after undergoing the treatment that, “everything hurts.”
“My head hurts,” she said while holding an ice pack to her scalp. “I feel like I’m having a heart attack. My heart hurts.”
The teen continued to describe her symptoms, “My eyes are strained, they hurt to look to the sides. My whole mouth feels like I got one giant root canal,” she said. “Every single tooth, just ripped out and not even surgically put back in. My jaw hurts, the bottom of my tongue hurts. It hurts when I gulp water.”
Now having experienced the side effects from chemotherapy teatments, Strahan joked in the vlog saying that she “would prefer” radiation treatments and brain surgery itself.
“I would say I prefer brain surgery too, but that might be extreme,” she quipped. “This one’s just the longest journey.”
Surrounded by family, although she, “doesn’t mind the hospital,” Strahan is glad to be recuperating from her treatment at home.
“Personally, I don’t mind the hospital too much because I feel safe, but I do like being home.”
The former defensive end shares Isabella and her twin sister, Sophia, with his second wife, Jean Muggli. The former NFL legend also shares two older children, 32-year-old Tanita and 29-year-old Michael Jr., with his first wife, Wanda Hutchins.
