Co-parenting can be an extremely challenging task to master. Yet, former Playboy model and mother-of-two Kendra Wilkinson has managed to find the perfect groove with ex-husband, Hank Baskett, when it comes to their co-parenting journey. In a recent exclusive interview with People Magazine, Wilkinson says that she is “lucky” to have her ex.
“The kids are so lucky to have him [Baskett],” Wilkinson said in her interview. “I’m lucky to have him. So the thing about it is, you just have to look at what you do have — what are the things you do have and be grateful for those things. And even if it’s a couple of things, just nurture it, be good to it.”
She added, “We’re co-parenting really well. It’s what divorce is about, it’s a very giving thing.”
Wilkinson and the former 41-year-old NFL player divorced in Baskett, divorced in 2018. The couple’s divorce came as a result of Baskett’s acknowledgement that he had an affair in 2014 while Wilkinson was eight months pregnant with now nine-year-old daughter, Alijah Mary Baskett.
“A lot of people cheat — a lot of people have affairs and it’s not a good thing to do, but it’s something I forgive,” she says. “I forgive, and he deserves it. He’s the most amazing human and he’s better than that. Hank is an amazing father, an amazing co-parent, and he deserves all good things, and that’s how I actually feel.”
The 38-year-old is not allowing the past to define her present. “What he did in my marriage doesn’t define him to me today.”
In addition to their daughter, Wilkinson and Baskett also share 14-year-old Hank Randall Baskett IV.
In a previous 2021 episode of her reality show, Kendra Sells Hollywood, the 38-year-old, now real estate agent, expressed just how lucky she also feels to have a good relationship with her children.
“I couldn’t have asked for better kids,” she said at the time. “I mean, when it comes to parenting and when it comes to my bonding with them, so sacred and so powerful. If there’s one part of my life I’m doing right, it’s them.”
Congratulations to Wilkinson and Baskett on successfully demonstrating how, although the co-parenting journey can be difficult at times, successful co-parenting can be achieved!
