Romelo Hill, a 5’6” guard from Atlanta, Georgia, is making waves in the basketball world. Currently playing for the RWE in the Overtime Elite basketball league, he is part of a groundbreaking initiative launched in 2021.
The Overtime Elite basketball league provides young talents aged 16 to 20 with a unique opportunity to pursue a professional basketball career. Additionally, players in the league have the option to turn professional or pursue college.
As for the perks of playing, players like Romelo receive a minimum salary of $100,000 annually, but they also get a signing bonus and shares in Overtime’s larger business. The company also ensures the well-being of its players by providing health and disability insurance, and allocates $100,000 in college scholarship funds for each player who decides not to pursue professional basketball after their time in the league.
