After months of speculation and countless pregnancy rumors, Halle Bailey and her boyfriend DDG have announced the arrival of their first child. The 23-year-old actress, known for her role in The Little Mermaid and as one-half of the musical duo Chloe x Halle, took to social media on Saturday (January 6) to share the exciting news with their fans.
In a heartwarming Instagram post, Halle revealed a touching photo of herself holding the tiny hand of their newborn son, whom they’ve named Halo. Alongside the image, she expressed her gratitude for the incredible blessing that 2023 brought into her life.
“Even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me was bring me my son,” Halle wrote. “Welcome to the world, my Halo the world is desperate to know you ♥️.”
DDG also took to Instagram to share the news, writing, “My biggest blessing by far son son.. never been so in love baby halo.”
Speculation about Halle’s pregnancy had been rampant for months, reaching a peak after fans noticed her concealing her stomach at the Color Purple premiere on December 6th. The previous month in November, Bailey responded to a fan on Snapchat who claimed she had a “pregnancy nose” in a recent photo.
In response to the comment, Bailey shared a video stating, “Listen, if I see one more person say something about my nose one more time, it’s going to be hell to pay.”
Additionally, Bailey took to her Instagram story in December to address the rumors and express her gratitude for her true supporters.
She wrote, “I just wanna say i’m so very grateful for my real supporters who are respectful of women’s bodies and loving,” she wrote. “being under a microscope is not easy but for the real ones who show unconditional love religiously i appreciate you.”
Bailey and boyfriend DDG made their red carpet debut at the BET Awards in 2022 and have been dating from more than a year.
