Grammy-nominated singer Victoria Monét is kicking off the new year with an escape to Punta Cana with her daughter Hazel in tow!
In an Instagram post, Victoria expressed her profound gratitude her little girl, whom she shares with husband John Gaines.
She wrote, “Hazel, starting the year off with some mommy daughter vacation time has really warmed me, softened every rough edge and has given my heart so much peace! Every second spent away from you for work was an emotional, physical and financial sacrafice and to have the treat of real quality time with you after it all is my favorite love language for us to share! Thank you for the best vacation I’ve ever experienced because it was with you my little superstar!!”
Victoria then went on to describe the many endearing qualities of Hazel – from being a good swimmer to a cuddly snuggle bear.
“You’re such a good swimmer, a cuddly loving snuggle bear, a silly, expressive and incredibly smart toddler with such a keen intuition, you give the best kisses, the firmest “no’s” lol and you really care! You ask me “mommy; are you happy?” And every time I look in your eyes my genuine answer is YES! I am so happy to be your mommy!”
Hazel Monét Gaines, at just two-and-a-half years old, has already made history as the youngest Grammy nominee ever. The 2-and-a-half-year-old toddler is featured alongside Earth, Wind & Fire on her mama’s track “Hollywood,” which received a nod for Best Traditional R&B Performance.
Victoria Monét also received seven Grammy nominations, tied for the second-most overall. The nominations include prestigious categories such as Record of the Year (“On My Mama”), Best New Artist, Best R&B Song, and Best R&B Album for “Jaguar II.”
