14-YEAR-OLD MALAKAI BAYOH SINGS ANGELIC SOLO, “ONCE IN ROYAL DAVID’S CITY”

You may not remember the name or the face, but you certainly may remember the heavenly voice of the talented young man who made judges on Britain’s Got Talent actually shed tears. Well, Malakai Bayoh is back and this time the talented 14-year-old is singing an angelic solo, “Once in Royal David’s City,” that will unquestionably leave you misty, if not shedding tears of your own.

If you are unfamiliar with this truly historic classic Christmas carol, “Once in Royal David’s City,” according to classicfm.com, tells the story of the nativity, with baby Jesus and his adoring mother in the midst of the famous manger scene.

The carol’s words were written by Irish poet Cecil Frances Alexander in 1848 and set to music by English organist Henry John Gauntlett.

Malakai’s version of the song featured a stunning harp accompaniment by Cecily Beer. Together, the duo delivered a truly awe-inspiring performance with the magnanimous 300-year-old London church, St Mary le Strand, in London’s historic Westminster, as their backdrop. 

Malakai has had a meteoric rise to viral fame and has touched millions around the globe with his talent which helped to propel him to the finals on Britain’s Got Talent. On the show, Malakai received not only the golden buzzer for his semi-final rendition of “O Mio Babbino Caro,” he also got nothing but praise from all three judges.

“One of the best voices I think I’ve ever heard”’ Simon Cowell said of the teens performance at the time.

Amanda Holden added: “That was a stunning performance. Totally flawless and very composed.”

While Bruno Tonioli simply expressed his emotion through happy tears.

Although, Malakai didn’t win the finals, the young star proved that he is nothing less than a phenomenal talent and that that moment in time was just the beginning for his rising star. Shortly after his stint on Britain’s Got Talent, Malakai released his debut album, Golden.

We cannot wait to see what the future holds for Malakai and his angelic voice. We have a feeling that we will be seeing much more of this extraordinary young man, and we are definitely here for it!
