Kimora Lee Simmons is thankful to Los Angeles County firefighters for protecting her and her family after a fire threatened their well-being. The fashion mogul took to Instagram this past weekend to express her gratitude for the first responders who swiftly identified the location of the fire and worked to put it out promptly.
“My house caught fire,” Kimora told her social media fans on Saturday (Dec. 2). “The kids and I are all fine,” she added. “I cannot express enough my deepest gratitude to the numerous battalions, ladders, and units that attended to us for many hours today and quite possibly saved our lives. Thank you.”
Kimora Lee Simmons has wrested with a few things this year, including a public battle with the father of her daughters that brought her to tears. The fashion mogul later told the press that she was okay despite the feud, which included her youngest daughter, Aoki Lee Simmons.
“I’m a tough chick,” Kimora shared during ESSENCE Fest. “I want the girls to know, because they’re young and impressionable, that it’s okay, people go through things,” the celebrity mom said when speaking of what she hoped her daughters gained from the experience.
“The world loves you,” Kimora continued. “If somebody forms an opinion of you based on two seconds of something they don’t know, then you’re not missing them,” the entrepreneur shared.
Kimora went on to tell the press about her life as a single mom. “If you are a single parent, you understand what single parents go through,” the celebrity mom shared. “You understand that family unit, you understand that struggle,” she added.
“You understand that having children is like having a broke bestie: You love them to death but they can never contribute to the dinner. Those things are universal.”
Kimora Lee Simmons has five kids in all.
