Sarunas Jackson, the brother of Darius Jackson, is embroiled in a custody battle with his ex-girlfriend DomiNque Perry over their 5-year-old daughter, Zen Jackson.

The Insecure stars are currently duking it out in court after Sarunas filed a petition to determine parental relationship back in September. His request? Joint legal and physical custody of little Zen, who, according to Sarunas, resides in California.

However, DomiNque Perry has fired back, adamantly opposing Jackson’s plea. Despite what she describes as “emotional volatility and intimidation” from Sarunas, Perry insists she has always prioritized fostering a positive co-parenting relationship for the sake of Zen’s well-being.

The actress also revealed in her filing that she has always maintained her home in Texas and travels to California for work. She emphasized that Zen’s permanent residence has been in Texas, not California.

“While pregnant, I returned to Texas to deliver Zen. Zen was born in Houston, Texas. I maintain a home in the State of Texas and Texas is where I spend the great majority of my time. And because I have always been Zen’s primary caregiver, Zen travels with me and has exclusively lived with me making her permanent home in Texas as well,” she wrote.

DomiNque Perry further explained that when she decided to move to Texas, Sarunas never objected to her plan until he unexpectedly filed the court case in September, preventing her from relocating.

She told the court, “[Sarunas’] visitation routines are dependent upon when he expresses a desire to see her. Generally, [Sarunas] requests to see Zen are sporadic. Because [Sarunas’] has attained a certain level of success in his career, he generally works and has to travel even more than I do. I am concerned with whom Zen may be left with in the face of his extended absences.”

A judge has yet to rule on the case.
