ALTERNATIVES TO HALLOWEEN TRICK-OR-TREATING

Unfortunately, the spookiest time of the year falls on a school night. Many parents and their little ghouls and gobblins are not necessarily going to be able to go out and about and trick-or-treat. To make ensure that one of the best holidays of the year is not a total bust, here are a few alternatives to trick-or-treating.

Create a scavenger hunt with candy.
Halloween is a double whammy of thrills. The holiday brings two types of excitement. First, the spooky costumes and decorations bring out the screams, and second, the massive amounts of candy bring out the smiles. Hide some of your child’s favorite candy around the house and either do a traditional scavenger hunt with clues or just let them go wild!

Pop that piñata.
Piñata’s are extremely fun and are filled with what everyone is looking forward to on Halloween, candy. Hang up a spooky piñata and let the kids whack away. You can even invite some of your neighbors children over and turn it into a real mini-Halloween party. Don’t forget the blind fold!
