Bryce James, the youngest son of NBA legend Lebron James, has received another D1 college offer. This time it is from the Buckeye nation’s, Ohio State University.
After an unofficial college visit to the campus, the Buckeye nation offered the 6’6″ small forward the opportunity to come and play for the team. Bryce’s elder brother Bronny also considered Ohio state prior to committing to the University of Southern California.
According to ESPN, the 16-year-old is listed as a four-star recruit in the class of 2025.
A year ago, he received his first Division I Basketball scholarship offer to play basketball at Duquesne University.
The talented athlete first shared the news in an Instagram story, writing alongside the Duquesne’s logo, “Blessed to receive my first d1 offer from Duquesne #godukes.”
According to Sports Illustrated, there is a connection between the James family and Duquesne University. The team’s head coach Keith Dambrot previously coached LeBron when he himself was a student at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in his hometown of Akron, Ohio. Dru Joyce III, an assistant coach for the team, also played with LeBron when the pair were in high school.
Bryce is unquestionably getting a lot of attention on the court more so than not.
Just a few days ago, he and Carmelo Anthony’s son Kiyan had the opportunity to show off their talents as a part of Team USA’s Junior Camp. In addition to James and Anthony, Alijah Arenas, AJ Dybantsa, Koa Peat, Ian Jackson, Dylan Harper, and a pool of 77 other top athletes participated in the minicamp.
“USA Basketball is excited about the elite group of players attending the junior national team minicamp,” the men’s national team director Sean Ford said in a recent interview.
He continued, “It’s a pleasure to welcome back several gold medalists and athletes from junior national teams programming over the last three summers, as well as introduce a group of young, talented players into the program.”
