Former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson, aka Ochocinco, was inducted into the Bengals’ Ring of Honor during halftime of Monday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams. Johnson’s fiancée, kids, and good friend Terrell Owens stood proudly by his side as he received the well-deserved honor.
Before the ceremony kicked off, WLWT spoke to Ocho about the deep significance of the occasion.
Chad Johnson, visibly thrilled, shared his heartfelt sentiments, saying, “The fans themselves have been the cornerstone of my success, and I couldn’t be happier. It’s an absolute pleasure to be in the Ring of Honor, and I’m especially grateful to experience this moment while I can fully savor it. It’s a genuine honor, and my heart is filled with gratitude.”
Despite retiring from the NFL, the 45-year-old former superstar continues to make headlines. Not only for his on-field prowess but also for his big family. Chad, a proud father, recently disclosed in an interview the driving force behind his decision to have a sizable brood – his desire for athletic offspring.
“My reason was, during those times when I was younger, I wanted to athletic children. So therefore I dated those who had an athletic background. I need to see. What did you do in high school to cheer? Did you play volleyball? Did you run track? Anything athletic. Do you have footage of anything? Then you check the ankles. Listen, the most important foundation to any sport you play is your footwork.”
h”Yeah she’s gorgeous. But when we have a kid then what? I’m not raising models. I don’t want no model. I don’t care how fine you are. Can you run the 40? How would you lateral movement can you jump?”
Johnson’s most recent addition to his ever-growing family tree is a precious baby girl. He and his fiancée, Sharelle Rosado welcomed their daughter Serenity Paula Johnson on January 2, 2022.
