Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert are happily co-parenting after deciding to separate. The ‘We Got Love’ singer took to Instagram on Sunday (Sept. 17) to set the record straight after rumors about their relationship began to spread online.
“AHT AHT! Not too much on my bestie,” Teyana shared with her supporters. “In all fairness, Iman and I are separated and have been for a while,” the singer revealed. “To be 1000% clear, ‘infidelity’ ain’t one of the reasons for our departure,” Taylor shared. “We are still the best of friends, great business partners, and are one hell of a team when it comes to co-parenting our two beautiful children.”
Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert welcomed their oldest daughter, Junie, in 2015. The youngster was born in the restroom of the family home. Iman and Teyana wed in their home’s restroom months after welcoming Junie as a way to celebrate their daughter’s birth. Junie’s birth in the restroom of the family home was unplanned. Teyana and Iman, however, appreciated the experience to the degree of preparing to give birth to their youngest daughter, Rue Rose, in the same place in 2020.
Teyana recently shared her thoughts about motherhood during a conversation with Interview magazine. “No matter how many people you have in your life, it’s very, very easy to still feel like a single mom,” the entertainer admitted. “Because you are the one that has to carry these babies,” Taylor said.
Regardless of how she may feel at times, Teyana made it clear on Sunday that she and Iman are committed to keeping their bond strong. “We are FAMILY and in the ten years together, seven years married we ain’t ever played with or about THAT,” the entertainer declared in her public announcement.
“We just keep y’all as*es out the group chat,” Teyana mused. “The only reason I’m even sharing THIS part of the chat is because the narratives are getting a little out of hand and it’s unfair to all parties involved. I hope this provided some clarity for y’all.”
